The Effects And Influence Of The Mentor And Role model You Keep On Your Life.

There has always been a misconception between these two words. People often take mentors for role models.
A mentor knows you and cares about you and tries to help you succeed. There is always a one on one relationship with a mentor.
A role model on the other hand is simply a person you look up to and try to emulate. It is very common for young people to choose role models they have never met and never will meet, simply because in some way they idealize that person's image.
You can never make some one you can't access and have a chat with as your mentor, he/she can only be your role model.
I don't know who your role models are, neither do I know who your mentors are, but they have great tendency of deciding your future.
Most destinies has been chattered by the mistakes of some so called mentors or role models while some has been built for the better in the same process.
Most people has so much believed in their mentors that even when their mentor falls they do thesame. Being careful before you choose a mentor or role model is very important.
Of course there were hundreds of great role models out there and there are countless examples of successful thinkers, artists, athletes, singers, writers and more for us to aspire to. For some reason though these people stood out among the crowd and were the ones that we really took notice of and tried to emulate. Perhaps we sensed a kindred spirit, or perhaps they reminded us of one of our parents.
Either way, once we choose a role model, they become a long – sometimes even lifelong fascination that we would take into adulthood.
Taking a person as a mentor is equivalent to handing over the steering of your life to him because you see him or her as more experienced and knowledgeable than you.
For you to record a good mentorship, you must first study and know very well who you are picking as a mentor. It is necessary that you define that person in black and white.
» Know the history of his life,
» Know how he has even been able to manage his own life,
» Know what his environment speaks about him,
» Know the type and calibre of people he/she moves with,
» Know who he also seeks advise or counsel from.
The above highlighted points are crucial things you need to look into before subjecting yourself to the tutoring or mentorship of anybody. So many great minds has been brainwashed and taken advantage of because they found themselves with the wrong person.
Nobody is an island, you will definitely need to always look up to someone for guidance but get this that, that good man you see today can fall into mistakes(not even a mistake) tomorrow and if care is not taken, you will think is the right thing.
Away from that, we will look at influence of role models. A role model now is someone you want to be like unlike mentors who are people you run to for guidance on how to go about your life.
There is need for absolute care if you must have a role model. In most case, it is better to focus on who and what you can become than trying to be like others.

The standard your role model is operating on can fail him/her at any moment and then leads to his fall, so you who has been looking upto him/her for long at this point get stranded and confused on the next line of action.
The actions of every role models are emulated by those admires them and want to be like them. Although the effects of some role models may not always be positive, good role models are in a position to have a positive influence on others.
Most people needs to be motivated and inspired before they take major decisions in life but even at this, caution should be taken in other not to fall in to wrong hands. Some steal visions and ideas, some discourage while some also promote ideas and visions with encouragements.
