CBN denies media reports of Emefiele flying private jets to meetings

Social media was awash this morning with reports claiming that the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, now flies private jets to attend meetings in and out of Nigeria. According to a statement released by the Ag. Director, Corporate Communications of CBN, Isaac Okorafor today April 9th, this report is totally false. According to the statement, Emefiele and his principal staff use local flights and sometimes use the roads when going for meetings. The statement also denied claims of Emefiele and his family flying a private jet to attend his mother's funeral in Delta state recently. Read their statement after the cut.

2.6Million Internet Subscribers Dump MTN

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on Saturday said that internet users on Nigeria’s telecommunications networks reduced to 93.75 million as at February 2016.

Majority of those who switched off the net were MTN subscribers, data published by the commission for February shows.

The casket bearing the remains of popular singer and songwriter, Olumuyiwa Osinuga, popularly known as Nomoreloss, arrived Foursquare Gospel Church, Ikoyi, Lagos state for his burial.

Olumuyiwa Olumide, the owner of Bar Enclave spoke of how he carried Nomoreloss’ daughter and she asked of his name. When he told her Olumuyiwa, she said her dad’s name is Muyiwa as well but she can’t find him anywhere.
